As a leading expert in commerce solutions for gaming and digital content publishers, Coda Payments (“Coda”) top priority is ensuring that every transaction for its customers is secure, seamless, and stress-free. As part of this commitment, the out-of-app monetization experts have launched the “Coda Fights Fraud” campaign to protect gamers from scams and bad actors.

Kicking off in Indonesia, the campaign features an educational video starring Coda’s mascot, Codee. In this short Bahasa Indonesia video, Codee introduces a game called “Find the Truth,” which teaches viewers how to identify and avoid fake Codashop websites and Android Package Kits (APKs). APKs are the file format used by Android for app distribution. While legitimate APKs enable users to install apps outside the Google Play Store, harmful APKs can pose serious risks. Malicious APKs may masquerade as genuine gaming applications or Codashop itself, deceiving users into downloading them. This can lead to compromised personal information, including login credentials and payment details, resulting in identity theft or unauthorized transactions. These harmful APKs can also introduce malware, disrupting gameplay and potentially damaging devices.

Within Coda’s own ecosystem, security measures go beyond the basics to ensure that every transaction is protected. Coda doesn’t just use hypertext transfer protocol secure (HTTPS); it has implemented a robust security strategy designed to counter threats and stop fraudsters in their tracks.

This approach includes advanced threat intelligence, early fraud detection, and a dedicated team monitoring transactions around the clock. Coda is certified at the highest level of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS Level 1), which means payments are not just secure—they’re ironclad. Coda deploys Web Application Firewalls and rate controls to fend off external attacks, including Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks and Application Programming Interface (API) threats. And with Coda’s global anti-phishing platforms, we’re actively hunting down and shutting down fake sites and social media scams that could harm our users.

Coda’s commitment to security doesn’t stop there. The company is deeply invested in data privacy, adhering to strict global standards like General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and more, with dedicated teams that ensure personal data is handled with the utmost care and protected against unauthorized access.

Coda recognizes that trust is earned, and we’re committed to it every day. Coda’s ongoing investment in security and privacy reflects our unwavering dedication to ensuring that each transaction is safe, smart, and scam-free.
