The Goal: Launch a new, high-demand skin through the D2C web store–and convert players from in-app to direct purchases.

What We Did: Coda and the publisher launched a coordinated campaign across Codashop, social, SEM, and affiliate channels. Exclusive incentives—up to 2X bonus and up to 20% discount—gave players a clear reason to switch platforms.

Results:

  • Record-breaking web store revenue with +134% transactions uplift vs. pre-campaign
  • 59% of revenue from SEM—2.7x the baseline performance
  • 133% increase in revenue from new buyers

Case Study 2:  Turning Fan Passion into Purchase Momentum

The Goal: Bring a broader audience of Sport Game players, especially infrequent in-app buyers, into the D2C webstore ecosystem. While the launch campaign and offers for the Coda-powered D2C store had succeeded in ensuring that many ‘deal-seekers’ were visiting the store, many players who are infrequent buyers from the Sport Game app were yet to visit the webstore. 

What We Did: 

  • The right incentive, offered the right way: To capture the attention of Sport Game players, we tapped into the one thing that Sport Game players couldn’t ignore – exclusive sports merchandise (sports club jerseys) sourced through the publisher. We used these jerseys to organise a global giveaway, with participation being through a special giveaway SKU selection available only through the webstore. 
  • The perfect timing: We also timed this to go live during a period of high purchase intent among the userbase to maximise participation. 
  • Optimized marketing mix: We used channels that ensured reaching out to an engaged audience cohort: Coda-owned and operated channels, paid media, and influencers.

Results:

  • 310K+ participants in the giveaway
  • 51K+ new sports game user logins on the web store
  • 37K+ new buyers on the web store

Why it Worked: By aligning with what fans care about—and pairing that with timely, targeted activation—we converted passion into purchase. A close publisher partnership helped shape the offer, while Coda’s owned and paid channels delivered scale and precision. 

Case Study 3: Coda Rewards x GCash – a Holiday Revenue Boost

The Goal: In December 2024, Codashop and GCash teamed up to launch “Paskong Payback”—a Coda Rewards campaign built to prove that a strong offer alone can drive meaningful out-of-app purchases. To test this, we chose a mid-tier title with no live in-game event, focusing instead on the power of a clear value proposition and coordinated marketing execution.

What We Did: Partnered with GCash to launch a 15% cashback Coda Rewards campaign, fully funded by GCash, over a 15-day period. The campaign was promoted across Codashop placements, a dedicated landing page, and GCash’s in-app and off-site channels. UTM tracking enabled real-time performance analysis across the funnel.

Results:

The campaign outperformed expectations by 61%, validating the effectiveness of the 15% cashback Coda Rewards value proposition paired with coordinated channel execution. Compared to average daily pre-campaign performance:

  • +137% TPV growth 
  • +91% new buyers
  • +84% transactions
  • +23% increase in ARPU

Why It Worked: The value proposition was simple and strong—15% cashback, no in-game trigger needed. Partnering with a trusted, high-MAU payment channel (GCash) amplified reach, while Coda’s owned assets converted intent into purchases.
